What happened when two very tall sailors banged their heads during a heated spinnaker manouevre in a small cockpit. That was the moment when the idea of Tempo was born, it's got to have a large enough cockpit for a big crew. This boat shouldn't be a large heavy barge but rather a simple, small and really fast.. She should have comfortable space for weekend and holiday cruising by a family. She should be simple and easy to sail even with a small crew, especially when there are growing young sailors in the family. Could a modern raceboat have all this? This is how the idea of Tempo, a modern spacious sportboat was born. The main emphasis in the design has been in excellent sailing performance and very airy interior. This new concept is the result of a long period of design work. Tempo is one of the first production boats where design has been totally done three dimensionally with the computer. The performance and structure of the Tempo was analysed carefully with advanced computer aided techniques with no stones unturned. The ergonomy of the boat was tested with three dimensional models of the two giant sailors that were the fathers of the concept. Tempo has a modern almost vertical bow and wide hull form, a tall 7/8 fractional rig with masthead spinnaker attached to a fixed bowsprit. She has a very modern effective bulbkeel and a carbon fiber rudder. The deck is dominated by the large cockpit and a smooth and round coachroof with large windows. All this to increase comfort. The boat is easy to handle and sail even with a small crew without compromising performance. And what is best all this Formula 1 technology at an affordable price. The first showing of the boat will be in the Helsinki International boatshow stand A 54.
